Guess what that made me think of though - a different media all together. I thought of this Mormon ad..."It's great except for...except for the bad parts. What kinds of movies and music are you feeding your mind?"
(I could not get the image to post, so here is the link to view this Mormon ad and all others!)
The ad shows a cockroach in the middle of a delicious-looking ice cream. Would you eat an ice cream if you knew there was a cockroach in it (a.k.a. your friend told you it would be great if you just ignore that piece)? Or would you continue eating the ice cream once you discovered a cockroach in it yourself? No way.
I have also noticed this in my life, it can be hard though sometimes to look at our life from an outside perspective and see the whole picture. One of the ways I judge the things I watch and listen to is by asking the parent question; would it be awkward to watch/listen to this with my mom or dad. If the answer is yes then that is a good indication that I need to adjust my standards and change the channel.
